There are two basic types of Wheelchair. Self propelled wheelchairs are moved by the occupant, generally by the hand rims. Attendant propelled chairs are designed to be moved by a carer pusing from behind anmd usually the back wheels are smaller. These can have brakes fitted to the push handles to allow greater control by the carer. A high degree of comfort can be achieved on some of these chairs, including tilt and recline functions.
